What is GST ARN Number?
When you apply for GST registration on the GST portal, you receive an
ARN (Application Reference Number) immediately after submitting the application.
This is a 15-digit unique reference number that lets you track the status of your GST registration
application until it gets approved and a GSTIN is issued.
ARN is generated within minutes of form submission and is sent to your registered mobile number
and email ID by the GST portal.
What Does GST ARN Look Like?
ARN is a 15-character alphanumeric code in the format:
AA + State Code + YYYYMMDD + 7-digit unique number
Example: AA270620250001234
It is different from GSTIN — ARN is only for tracking the application.
Once approved, you get your permanent GSTIN.
